Lectures, 1854-1867.

Three volumes of lectures prepared and delivered by Ferris in his teaching at the Rutgers Female Institute and the Univ. of the City of New York (1854-1867). Collection includes one volume of lectures on the evidences of Christianity given at both schools, and two volumes of lectures on moral science, likely given by Ferris at the Univ. of the City of New York. Additional material has been added either on loose sheets inserted in the volumes or to the text itself. The volumes on moral science each have an albumen portrait of Ferris affixed inside the front cover.
